YSRC, farmers call N Chandrababu Naidu ‘Bhu Bakasura’
YSRC leader from Guntur Ambati Rambabu termed Mr Naidu as modern Bhu Bakasura
Vijayawada: Branding AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as ‘Bhu Bakasura’ of Andhra Pradesh, YSRC leaders and farmers from AP capital region opposed land acquisition here on Wednesday.
At the dharna staged by YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, farmers took part along with rank file of the party. A farmer of Nidamarru village Krishna said that 80 per cent of the farmers who gave land to government through pooling only out of fear. “We won’t give our lands. We have no other option in life other than our fields earning two, three crops a year. We can’t fill our stomach watching beautiful capital and need to continue producing food for people,” he said.
Raising apprehensions over foreign nationals’ occupying the capital region, Mr Krishna said, “We don’t know English. They speak only in English. What if they come and ask the farmers to get out of sight since we walk around in lungis. Gandhi opposed foreign culture and promoted Indian culture everywhere.” Seems this capital is only for Mr Naidu but not people, he added.
A woman Jayamma challenged Mr Naidu’s son N. Lokesh and asked him to try if he can stop land acquisition in the capital region. She said all the women in capital region are literally deep in sorrow over the capital developments. “Snakes are often appearing in our houses as the fields are cleared,” she added, flaying Mr Naidu and his ministers for the consequences.
YSRC leader from Guntur Ambati Rambabu termed Mr Naidu as modern Bhu Bakasura and alleged that he was trying to benefit Singapore industrialists in the name of capital.
YSRC women wing chief Roja, who also called Mr Naidu Bhu Bakasura, said that Mr Naidu ignored all the suggestions including Sivarama Krishna Committee report and only following Vastu to build the capital. She said when 3,000 acres is enough as per master plan why not the government make farmers in other areas jointly venture with industrialists to set up industries and other units.
Capital Rythu Coolie Sangam president Lakshma Reddy, MLAs Pratap Apparao, Uppuleti Kalpana, Kodali Venkateswara Rao, MP Rajamohan Reddy, other leaders P. Rama Chandra Reddy, N. Appi Reddy, U. Shankar Reddy, Samineni Udaya Bhanu, Gautham Reddy P, Jogi Ramesh and others took part in the protest. Later Mr Jagan submitted a memorandum of demands at the APCRDA office.
