Mumbai: Officials from the Khar police station, who are investigating the alleged murder case of Sheena Bora, took two of the three accused to Pen in Raigad in a bid to reconstruct the sequence of events after the murder. However, as per sources, the police did not get the satisfactory results.
Two of the accused Sanjiv Khanna (Ms Mukerjea’s former husband) and Shyam Rai (Ms Mukerjea’s driver) were taken to Pen from the same route they had taken early on April 25, 2012 till the Khopoli-Pen highway where they allegedly dumped the body amidst in the bushes.

A police source said that a single vehicle was used to take the two accused to the site. A few vehicles belonging to some media channels were trailing the police vehicle carrying the two accused, but the driver managed to shake them off on the Khopoli highway drive out of sight. The vehicle was then spotted at the site where the skeleton was discovered.
Sheena’s body was allegedly dumped in Gagode Khurd village near Gagade Khndi. Several villagers still remember the day when the body was discovered by one of them while he was searching for a missing relative.
“The idea behind taking them to the spot was to verify and get some evidence on the confessional statements of the driver Shyam. Mr Khanna has also accepted his hand in the crime,” a police officer said.
The officials wanted to see if they could find the place where the accused had food and the petrol pump where they refuelled their car. Since the incident happened three years ago, the police said it was difficult for them to find witnesses who could recollect the faces of the accused, but they are not leaving any stone unturned
A police source said that after getting an extension of the accused?s remand on Monday, they would be brought to the spot again.
