Product Review: Phicomm Energy 653 - A pocket rocket
The Phicomm Energy 653 is true value money. No fancy design, no diamond-studded back panel or laser flash camera, but a lightweight smartphone that is future-ready and packs in enough performance capabilities to become your phone.
It is powered by a 1.1 GHz, Quad Core Snapdragon processor with 1 GB RAM and an Android 5.5 Lollipop OS. With an 8 megapixels rear and a 2 megapixels front camera, the 653 offers a design feature which is normally limited to high end smart phones — The camera doesn’t jut out. Most “slim” phones in the market have a little bulge to house the camera unit, but the 653 is able to achieve slimness all through its back panel. Just 8-mm thick, it houses a 5-inch screen that supports full HD IPS display and is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery.
The device is easy to hold and manage, and the buttons are sensibly placed on the right side panel, just the way we are used to in premium devices. With dual SIM capabilities, this is one of the cheapest 4G phones in India. Available for Rs 4,999 at Amazon, the Phicomm 653 is a good thing in a small package.
