Management denies negligence, claims Aamir was rushed to hospital immediately

Hyderabad: Relatives of Class X student Aamir Siddique, who died after a fight with a classmate in school, has alleged that the school’s staff did not stop the boys in time and suspect that some previous problems had led to the fight.
Aamir was the only son of Mr Mujeebuddin Siddique who has been working in Dubai since 20 years. Aamir lived with his mother and sister at his maternal grandparents’ house at Masab Tank. Aamir’s sister Mariam is also studying in Class X in St Joseph’s.
“We were shocked to hear the news. He never told us about any problems at school,” said Aamir’s cousin Ishaque. Meanwhile, the management of St Joseph’s Public School denied reports of negligence and claimed that immediate medical aid was given to the boy.
“The fight lasted only 30 seconds. One of the teachers separated them. By then Aamir became unconscious. After first aid, as his pulse was low, we rushed him to hospital,” said an official from the school. School staff also said the boys were violent and were soft spoken. “Both of them were good at studies. Aamir was interested in football,” added the official.
Meanwhile, relatives demanded strict action against the boy who hit Aamir. “It is a great loss. Whoever is responsible should be dealt with strictly. As my brother-in-law is away my sister had a lot of hopes about him (Aamir) and this is heartbreaking,” said Mr Irfan Hasmath, Aamir’s uncle.
As police brought the boy’s body to his maternal grandparents’ home at Masab Tank relatives from his father’s side demanded that the body be handed over to them for final rites.
“After my brother went to Dubai, they were staying there and we never objected. But now, they are doing injustice to us by not giving us the body. They are not even allowing us to wait till my brother arrives from Dubai,” said Mr Yahiya Siddique, the brother of Aamir’s father.
