KOCHI: The exterior and interior designs of Kochi Metro coaches, which were unveiled by the Chief Minister on Thursday, are unique and beautiful with most modern safety and comfort features.
The French company Alstom is in charge of the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 25 standard track gauge trains for Kochi Metro.
The coaches that are a aquamarine with a steel colour pattern will be equipped with state of the art facilities and features.
The stainless steel car body of each train provides easy maintenance, durability and robustness with low noise level. The trains are designed for a minimum of 35 years of service life.
Minister for power and railways Aryadan Muhammad unveiled the new logo of Kochi Metro Rail Limited. The new logo in turquoise blue is on the lines of the Underground which became a globally recognised commercial transport logo and a cultural icon. There will be five different colour adaptations for the main logo to be used for other modes of transport.
The first letter of all the sub logos will have turquoise blue colour. The second letter of the logos will be in light green for Metro Rail, dark blue for water bus, lilac for buses, purple for cycle and dark pink for taxis.
