Bengaluru-based Arjun Kamath’s photo narrative, Coming Out, is a captivating work on homosexuality
“Coming Out”, a captivating online photo narrative by Arjun Kamath, depicts the tribulations of homosexuals in today’s society. The work of the Los Angeles based photographer has left the social media abuzz with its flawless execution. He turned the phrase, “coming out of the closet”, into a photoshoot.
His narrative reflects on two issues — the love between a lesbian couple, who want the freedom to live happily together, and India's discrimination against same-sex relationships.“I wanted to create art based on the current social context. There are many issues that India is grappling with, such as female infanticide, honour killing etc. but for this project, homosexuality fitted the bill,” said Arjun.
The shoot took over two days in a locaBengaluru-based Arjun Kamath’s photo narrative, Coming Out, is a captivating work on homosexualityion about 50 km from Bengaluru. “I wanted a place without buildings and electric wires and this was just right,” says the photographer.
