Police nabbed Kiran from Sholapur in Maharashtra and produced him before the media on Saturday

Hyderabad: In addition to his passion for sports bikes Kiran was also undergoing psychotherapy at the KIMS Hospital for depression. He visited KIMS on August 25 and consulted the psychiatrist. Though he was earning a hefty salary it did not suffice for his needs. Meanwhile, his desire to own a Harley Davidson bike grew every day.
Police nabbed Kiran from Sholapur in Maharashtra and produced him before the media on Saturday. “We traced his mobile call records and tracked him to Sholapur. He fled with the bike willfully as he did not have money to buy a new one,” said West Zone DCP A. Venkateshwar Rao.
Sources said Kiran Kumar fled to Mumbai and stayed at the ONGC guesthouse in Mumbai for a day. After seeing the news of the bike theft on a news channel he shifted to a nearby lodge, around 500 meters away from the ONGC guesthouse.
Tulluri Kiran Kumar Kiran completed MTech from IIT Madras in 2010. In 2012, he joined ONGC at Mumbai as an assistant executive engineer in the production department. As part of his job he had to be offshore for a fortnight. After a fortnight job in August he came to Hyderabad in the third week .
He insisted that his parents should buy him a new Harley Davidson bike but his mother objected citing other financial commitments. “She was scared of accidents and tried to block from buying a sports bike”said a source. Police recovered the stolen bike and Kiran will be produced before court.
