Hyderabad: Police said Class IV student Ramya was giving different versions of the attack by the needle man but confirmed that she had a “small prick” on her upper right arm.
School officials said Ramya was crying and complained of severe pain on the right arm when she came to them. The staff enquired if she fell down somewhere or had fought with her friends. She then told them that a stranger had attacked her.
“She showed us her arm and said some stranger attacked her. When I checked, I found an impression of a needle and the skin had turned reddish,” said school in-charge V. Sudha. After first aid at a private hospital, she recovered.
“She seems to be in a shock and confused. We will speak to her after she recovers and find out what exactly happened,” said Malkajgiri ACP Ravi Chandan Reddy. Police recorded her statement and registered a case under Section 328 (causing hurt).
Experts see grip of injection psycho
Psychologists state that there is mass hysteria against the injection psycho as the crime is being continuously flashed and people are talking about it. The child claimed that the incident occurred a few meters away from the school gate could have heard it from someone or read it somewhere.
Psychologist Pragya Rashmi said, “The stories of injection being pierced are around since the 1980’s. Earlier it was in cinema theatres and people were scared to go to movie halls. We find this episode being repeated every few years but the authenticity is a bit doubtful.”
Also continuous reading or watching of such episodes make people believe that this has happened to them. Psychologist Dr Shobana Srivastav said, “It has often been found that people who come forward with this kind of anomalies are also suffering from attention deficiency.”
