Japanese farmers are growing heart-shaped oranges

Japanese farmers are using special presses to grow heart-shaped mandarins on the tree
Farmers in Japan known for the quality of its mandarins are betting on a special trick to woo consumers. They are now offering heart shaped oranges.
The secret lies in a V-shaped contraption made from wooden planks and metal tubes. It’s carefully attached to selected fruits while they’re still growing.
If all goes according to plan, each mold will yield a heart-shaped mandarin. Farmers say their success rate last year was 250 out of 400. They’re hoping to score many more hearts this year.
