Mumbai: Local train derails at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, no injuries reported
Mumbai: One coach of a local train heading from Bandra to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, derailed as it was entering the platform, during the rush hour of Monday evening. This comes days after the 122202 Secunderabad to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)- a passenger train- derailed in the Central Railway (CR) jurisdiction on September 12. Central Railway Chief Public Relations officer, Narendra Patil said, "There seems to be no one injured as of yet, it will take atleast 2 to 3 hours for the line to be restored." The immediate cause is unknown.
There have been 30 trains cancelled so far between CST and Wadala stations. Shuttle services are operating between Wadala and Panvel stations, while the passengers at CST have been allowed by CR to catch a mainline train to Kurla and then switch to the Harbour. No injuries have been reported until now.
