There’s no hate here
Off screen, Krip Suri and Aparna Dixit, the lead actors of Kalash, are all praise for each other
Krip Suri and Aparna Dixit play Ravi and Devika in Kalash — Ek Vishwaas. While their onscreen characters may share the quintessential love-hate relationship, Krip and Aparna are all praise for each other as co-stars.
Aparna, Krip, what were your first impressions of each other?
Aparna: I think I have got the best co-actor in Krip. When I first met him, I thought he was reserved, but I’ve been lucky in that as we end up chatting for the whole day on the sets!
Krip: Aparna works very hard, and she’s also very cooperative as a co-star.
What was your first meeting like?
Aparna: I first met him during the script narration. We didn’t interact much. But our first shot together was a rain sequence for which he had to go shirtless! That was the first time I realised what six-pack abs actually look like!
Krip: We’d been introduced just before our shoot and I offered her some coffee. I make very good coffee so I asked her if she’d like some, and we got along well.
Tell us about any quirky habits your co-star might have.
Aparna: Krip drinks far too much coffee and now even I have picked up that habit from him.
Krip: No quirks as such.
How similar/different do you think your co-star is as compared to the character they portray?
Aparna: The old Ravi was very different from the real Krip. I feel he’s much more similar to what Ravi has become now.
Krip: What I like about Devika and Aparna is their positivity. For me, positivity works like a magnet and Aparna’s optimism is her best quality.
What’s been your favourite scene?
Aparna: I have loads of favourite scenes. I can’t pick one. But yeah, I like all my kach-kach scenes with him. We end up laughing like crazy while performing our scenes! I feel that’s also because there is comedy, romance, emotions, everything between us (in our scenes).
Krip: I also have many favourite scenes, but the one where Ravi gets drunk and proposes to Nivedita, thinking she is Devika, is special. Otherwise, any scene done from the heart is my favourite.
Have you received any funny comments from your fans about your onscreen pairing?
Aparna: Our fans are so cute! The funniest comment however, was when one fan wrote, “Jab Devika Ravi ke liye feel karne lagegi to wo bolegi, ‘Kya karun, kach-kach hota hai!’”
Krip: Everybody has their own way of expressing love and I accept all comments from our fans, whether or not they are funny.
