The team of Talvar wanted no scope for misrepresentation of the Noida double murder case that it attempts to portray cinematically. To avoid any sort of distortion, the team did extensive research before the shoot.
They visited every place that was of any relevance to the case and spent a year getting their groundwork done. So the pre-production cost of the film was equal to its production cost.
The producer of the film Priti Shahani confirms, “Vishal Bharadwaj and Meghna Gulzar have had extensive research teams working on the film prior to the film commencing shoot. We were researching for almost one year prior to the shoot to present all sides of the case.”
