‘Action Jackson taught me what not to do’
Prabhu Deva seems to have put his past debacles (Action Jackson) behind him as he awaits the release of his directorial Singh is Bling. “I know I made some mistakes with Action Jackson, but I also learnt what not to do next time,” he laughs.
Was it difficult directing a film with huge doses of Punjabi, despite being a South Indian? “It wasn’t very tough since I had my Punjabi hero, Akshay Kumar sir to guide me. I don’t choreograph for films that I direct, so I had enough time to do my research and get the basics right.”
Speaking about Kriti Sanon who was the original choice for the film being replaced by Amy Jackson, Prabhu says, “There were some issues with Kriti’s dates, but Amy suits the role just fine and has given it what we need, so I’m happy with how the film’s looking.”
Is a dance film on the anvil? “I have some ideas in mind and I would want to try a dance film too.”
