Six replicas of each costume

The team of Diya Aur Baati Hum has been shooting at an outdoor location the past few months. Given the unpredictable weather conditions, the cast often ends up with dirty and damaged costumes. To tackle the problem, the team is now ordering six replicas of each costume. This has shot up the costume budget. The on-going track of Mission Mahaabali requires actors Deepika Singh, Vaishali Thakkar and Aadesh Chaudhary to film action sequences which require them to be all over the place.

Says a source, “We have six copies of each costume for every actor. So basically after filming the scenes, if the costume isn’t in a usable condition, the actors change into a similar fresh costume, for continuity’s sake. We keep them handy to avoid any stalling in the shooting process.”
