Kochi: The CPM-led Left Democratic Front, the opposition in the Corporation Council, which disrupted the special session of the council on ‘smart city’ on Saturday, has decided to attend the session convened on Wednesday.
Opposition leader KJ Jacob told DC that LDF members would also participate in discussions for the smart city project.
He however said the protest demanding a judicial probe into the Fort Kochi boat tragedy would continue.
The meeting of the council is essential for submission of the Smart City proposal within the stipulated time-frame.
Corporation Mayor Tony Chammany had said earlier that he would seek the co-operation of top CPM leaders such as VS Achuthanandan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for the smooth functioning of the special session.
