Diarrhoea kills one, 20 admitted
Medical camps are being set up in villages to tackle the burden of seasonal diseases
Hyderabad: A 65-year-old woman, U. Asha Ama, of Bopunaram village died on Thursday and more than 16 people were being treated in a government medical camp for diarrhoea in Bantwaram of Ranga Reddy district.
District medical and health officer Dr Bhanu Prakash said, “We have arranged a medical camp in the village and these cases were identified and treated as an out-patient basis. The source of contamination is yet not known. Municipal authorities have been alerted about this development and they have been asked to check on the source of contamination. Asha Ama, however, was suffering from other complications and she came for an examination at the camp and then died. Hence the exact cause is not known.”
