100 degree celsius going all over
It seems a vindication of sorts for director Rakesh Gopan when his film 100 Degree Celsius which did not do too well in Malayalam has now been lapped up by the other Southern industries. Confirming this news Rakesh says, “We have already sold the rights for the remakes in Tamil and Telugu to SVR Media Pvt Ltd (Sobha) and talks are also going on for the Kannada and Hindi remakes. Actually a big Bollywood production house has showed a keen interest in remaking the film.” Rakesh adds, “Though the film did not do well in Malayalam the film was seen and appreciated by other industries. In fact I got offers for six times the amount in Telugu by a well known, young producer but by then the remake rights were already sold. All the female characters have equal importance in the film and the story received warm vibes from the other industries for the storyline.”
The women centric film starring Shwetha Menon, Ananya, Bhama, Meghna Raj and Haritha Parokod in lead roles is about five girls from different backgrounds who face a common place threat that is prevalent in society and their way of handling it. Adds Rakesh, “I guess it is easier to get four heroines than heroes in other industries”
