Filipino files case against cyber crook from Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A woman medical professional from Philippines approached the Cyberabad police alleging online harassment by a Hyderabadi youngster, who was allegedly forcing her to her naked photos through Facebook chat. The woman, a native of Rizal province, who is currently working with a medical firm in Saudi Arabia, lodged an online complaint with the cops saying that the man named Eliyaz Khan had threatened to create her fake FB profile using morphed photographs of her if she did not send him her naked photos. The complaint was lodged weeks after a B Tech student was arrested for seeking naked photos of teenage girls. The cops are verifying how to go about the case.
The victim, who is married and living with her kids and husband, expressed her fear about being defamed in the social media by the cyber bully. She said that she was worried if her kin came to know about the incident. “I am in Saudi Arabia. It is dangerous if people come to know (after he make the fake FB profile),” she said.
The accused, Eliyaz Khan, has mentioned in his Facebook profile that he is from Hyderabad and working in the health department. However, he has not mentioned which firm he works in or which area in city he lives in. Going by his profile, it is suspected that it a fake profile created by a Cyber offender.
In a complaint to Cyberabad SHE team, the victim said that he had been blackmailing her using different tactics. “He has been asking me to send my nude photographs. He threatened me that he would create a fake Facebook profile using my photographs and upload obscene content and nude photos in it if I did not obey him,” said the victim in the online message.
The suspect Eliyaz Khan had became a Facebook friend of the victim earlier, and had few initial chats. After some days, he changed his tone and started flirting with her.
Despite the victim expressed her resentment, he started asking for her nude photographs, sources said.
In Facebook profile of Eliyaz Khan showed that he had added several girls and women from Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia as his friends. However, since he has not given away much about his identity, it is suspected that he must have created the profile just to stalk and harass women around the world.
The cyber crime police is yet to register a case in this matter due to jurisdictional issues. “We are exploring the possibilities on how to go about the case,” said a senior official from SHE team, who have gone through the complaint.
