Dharma Productions’ Shaandaar, has three member of the Kapoor family — patriarch Pankaj Kapoor, son Shahid and daughter Sanah. If the youngest Kapoor is to be believed, it wasn’t exactly charted out that way.
Says Sanah, “I chose to give my audition independently, without telling anyone. One of the best moments for me after becoming part of the project was coming home and telling mom, dad and Shahid bhaiya about getting selected. They didn’t even know that I had auditioned, so the surprise and pride on each of their faces was priceless. The scariest part was when I found out that my dad was going to be a part of it too.”
As a kid who grew up among film stars, she always had a fascination for the big screen, she admits. “I knew that I wanted to become an actor since childhood and trained myself to become one. My family members were aware about my desires too, but I didn’t want to take any support from them. I am grateful to Mukesh Chabbra (casting director) for giving me this role in Shaandaar which I instantly fell in love with.”
