Gang chases vendor, stabs him to death in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A roadside vendor from Chandrayanagutta was brutally murdered on Friday night.
The attackers chased the victim who was riding a bike and rammed their bike into his bike. Fearing an attack, he ran for his life and entered a restaurant. Police suspect previous enmity to be the reason for the murder.
The murdered man Md. Sohail, 30, was a resident of Hafeez Baba Nagar in Chandrayanagutta and was running a roadside imitation jewellery store in the Ameerpet area.
On Friday night he closed his store and started home on his bike. When he reached the Ranga Reddy collectorate area in Lakdikapul two men rammed their bike into Sohail’s bike and he fell down. They got down and started beating him up with rods. Sensing danger, Sohail ran away and the attackers chased him.
“He entered the Sandhya Restaurant and the attackers followed him. They attacked him with rods on the head and back and fled,” said Saifabad additional inspector Y. Prakash Reddy. Sohail died on the spot.
After examining the CCTV footages at the restaurant police identified one of the attackers. However, they refused to reveal the names of the killers.
“We identified a man. We are trying to nab him. They might be having enmity over some issue,” the inspector said.
