Parties to spread word, ensure bandh success
The decision to call state-wide band was taken in the BJP office
Hyderabad: The failure of the TRS government in convincing the Opposition members on their demand of one-time settlement of farmers’ loans and the subsequent suspension of elected representatives from rest of the session, have united the three political parties who are otherwise divided.
The decision to call for the state-wide bandh was taken in the BJP Legislature Party office and was attended by Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy, K. Jana Reddy and Telugu Desam leaders who are allies of the BJP.
Though October 10 is a second Saturday, which is a declared holiday for both the state and Central governments and also for educational institutions, the impact of the bandh remains to be seen on commercial, business and industrial establishments as well as on public transport.
The three state presidents of the parties — Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy (Congress), Mr L. Ramana (TD) and Mr G. Kishen Reddy (BJP) — separately announced the bandh on Monday.
Till October 10, the three parties will organise tours in the districts to instil confidence in farmers and also to take up agitation programmes by way of submitting representations to mandal, division and district level officers and conducting dharnas and rallies to create awareness about the bandh.
