Chennai: A woman got admitted to the Chromepet government hospital to get a medical report to support a police complaint of alleged physical torture against her lawyer husband; but she had to call him for help as the ward boy allegedly started misbehaving with her.
Ultimately, help came from the unexpected quarter. The husband stepped in and ensured that the ward boy was arrested. He took his wife back home. The police arrested ward boy Krishnakumar, 45, who was working on a temporary basis.
The 28-year-old woman had got herself admitted to the hospital a few days ago to get a medical report on physical torture to support the complaint of domestic violence against her husband.
“It seems she was ranting against her husband to everybody, including the ward boy. After promising her to get a report, he obtained her mobile number. He then started calling her on her mobile number for chatting and later it turned to be a conversation which the woman refused to entertain. He then made advances to her during his visits to the room”, the police said. Despite her warning, the ward boy continued with his advances.
Unable to put up with the harassment any longer, she called her husband. He rushed to her rescue and lodged a complaint with the Chromepet police station against the ward boy.
The police arrested Krishnakumar. True to the saying that all is well that ends well, the woman said she was withdrawing her complaint against her husband and was going back home with him.
