Visakhapatnam: A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Vizag police on Sunday for chopping off a woman’s hair in a share auto at Gajuwaka area. Police sources said that after initial investigation it had come to light that the culprit, K. Suresh Kumar, working in a small private firm, had been doing this for long as it was a fetish of his.
Sources said that Kumar would travel in share autos, sitting at the back of the seven-seater vehicles. Whenever he would like a woman's hair, he would chop off a part of it and keep it in a bag that he carried.
Gajuwaka Inspector M. Appa Rao said the cops were yet to ascertain the exact reason why Kumar, a resident of Gopalapatnam area in the city, would chop off women’s hair. On Sunday, the share auto-rickshaw was heading towards Gajuwaka from NAD Junction and the culprit chopped a woman's hair at Nathayyapalem area. The victim became aware and alerted the other passengers and the auto driver, who beat Kumar and handed him over to the Gajuwaka police.
