Murali Mohan’s Jayabheri to build projects in Amaravati

The actor-turned-politician has done several projects in Hitec City

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam MP M. Murali Mohan’s Jayabheri Properties, which had undertaken several projects at Hitec City and Gachibowli in Hyderabad, will be constructing huge residential projects near AP’s capital Amaravati too.

The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) had recently granted environmental clearance for a 1.27 lakh-square metre built-up area project at Kunchanapally in the capital area. The SEIAA had agreed to the recommendations of the State Environmental Appraisal Committee reg-arding the construction of residential projects by Jayabheri Properties in Kunchanapally of Tadepalli mandal in Guntur district on an area of 2.775 hectare. Kunchanapally is very close to the AP capital area but doesn’t fall in the land pooling area.

Mr Murali Mohan, who is a close associate of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is the promoter of Jayabheri and had constructed several residential projects near Hitec City in Madhapur and in Hyderabad.

According to the SEIAA rules, any project above 20,000 square metre has to get environmental clearance from the committee.

According to the minutes of the SEIAA meeting held on September 8, a copy of which is available with this newspaper: “The Committee noted that it is a residential apartment project at Kunchanapally having total built up area of 1,27951.8 sq. metres. Activity listed in 8(a) of Schedule of EIA Notification, 2006 and falls under category “B2”. After detailed discussion, the committee recommended to issue EC to the project by stipulating certain conditions.”

The conditions include setting up of a sewage tr-eatment plant (STP) of 260 KLD, solar energy, earthquake resistant construction, use of fly ash based products for construction, provision for rain water harvesting, use of LED lights in the common areas and internal roads and a green belt of 10 per cent of the total area. Mr Murali Mohan was unavailable for comment.
