Karnataka police chief lauds sub-inspector’s bravery
The police department will grant an ex-gratia of Rs 30 lakh to the sub-inspector’s family
BENGALURU: Lauding the bravery of SI Jagadish S. who died in Nelamangala, after getting brutally stabbed by a thief, DG-IGP Om Prakash along with Additional DGP (Law and Order) Alok Mohan addressed a press conference on Friday announcing the police department will grant an ex-gratia of Rs 30 lakh to the sub-inspector’s family members along with a group insurance of Rs 20 lakh with other benefits. “The department will extend its full support to the slain SI’s family members and will take care of his children’s education. The family will also continue to get the salary of the officer regularly until the deemed date of retirement. An immediate family member will also be provided a job if they are willing to work with government services,” said Mr. Om Prakash adding that “We will also be recommending his name for the gallantry awards.”
“The preliminary investigations do not reveal any lapses from the part of the SI who was the investigating officer in that case where he had to go behind the thieves while this unfortunate incident happened,” he said.
