Dull response worries Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao team

Sanjay Leela Bhansali launched one of the biggest songs of Bajirao Mastani that introduces all three actors in the film — Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. The much-hyped song, which is SLB’s answer to Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya from Mughal-e-Azam, was recently released with much fanfare. He has also composed the songs and his sets were dazzling as usual. But there seems to be a problem.

Recently, at a popular eatery in the city, a few members of SLB’s team were overheard talking about how they are not pleased with the response the song has got so far. Speaking about the recent Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol DDLJ video that has gone viral on the Internet, one of them said, “We are going to clash with them and we’re not even making enough news.” Another team member did say that he feels the film has got a good response to which a third member interjected saying, “It’s not even on primetime radio and no one’s talking about it, except how pretty Deepika is looking.” They went on to discuss the Dilwale-Bajirao Mastani clash this Christmas and seemed to put forth a few valid reasons behind their concerns. “Who in Delhi or Kolkata would be interested to know about Bajirao whose life revolved only in Maharashtra? Dilwale, on the other hand, has a story and setting that will appeal to everybody,” said a team member.

A senior member in the same group appeared to take offence at this. He said, “The big trailer of Bajirao Mastani will air in a week. That will change everything. Wait and watch.”
