Amit Mishra to 'co-operate' with police after ODI series, says his brother
Mumbai: Amit Mishra's family in Delhi are disturbed over the recent media reports suggesting their 33-year-old leg-spinner is booked for assault on woman in Bangalore.
"We wonder why the woman registered the complaint after two days. If she was assaulted on September 25, the woman could have straightaway gone to the police station. But she waited till 27th September," Amit Mishra's brother, Sanjay Mishra, said.

"It is suspicious. It is to be investigated whether the woman was drunken and therefore she waited till the alcoholic effects are vanished."
It is learnt here that the woman in question is Vandana Jain and she also known to the other members of the Indian team and not only Amit Mishra
"We are yet to speak to Amit (Mishra) on the issue as he is busy in the middle of series now. How could any woman enter my brother's room and that too in his absence? We assume the act of the woman was brought to the notice of the hotel security staff and the management. The matter was believed to be over then and it was not known that the episode would be blown out of proportion to this extent." the brother added.
According to the sources, Amit Mishra has "agreed" to co-operate with the investigations and will appear before the police after the Mumbai ODI is played on Oct. 25.
He is also selected in the squad announced for the first Two Tests against the visiting South African team. "Mishra, however, will not wait till the Mohali Test, but will appear before the investigators soon after the ODI series," the source close to the BCCI, said.
"The FIR has already been registered but no arrest of Mishra is talked about," the BCCI source further added.
The investigations will be led by the Police Sub-inspector Vijay Hadagali, attached with the Ashoka Nagar Police station in Banglaore.
"During our further investigations, it will certainly be asked (to the woman) why she registered her complaint hours after the incident," Sandeep Patil, the DCP (Central), speaking from Banglaore, said on Wednesday.
