Am waiting for new roles: Sreenath Bhasi
Actor Sreenath Bhasi is just back after watching his latest flick Rani Padmini directed by Aashiq Abu. He is quite excited about the feedback the movie is receiving.
“After watching this movie, one feels like backpacking to somewhere,” says Sreenath. “Mine is an interesting character. I appear as a Malayali trekker who works in the Himalayas. My character provides help to the main characters.”
In Sreenath’s opinion, everyone should visit the Himalayas at least once. He had a great time shooting in the mountainous regions.
And he says that it was double delight as he was working with his friends. “It was like, those who usually chill at Kaloor were chilling in the Himalayas. Initially I was a little afraid because it is a risky place. Humidity is less there. Luckily, everything went fine. The entire journey with my friends turned out to be a memorable one. We had a great time,” says Sreenath, who has not been very active in films in the past year.
He clarifies that he was never away from movies. “I have been waiting for new roles as I didn’t want to get bored doing roles with similar shades. In between I did KL 10 Pathu, which I felt was different. It was four years back that I ventured into movies. I am still a newbie. There is so much to learn.”
His first movie was Pranayam that released in 2012. Recollecting the journey so far, Sreenath says, “I still cannot explain how acting happened to me. My first audition was with Shyamaprasad sir. That instilled in me fondness for acting. But, I couldn’t do that character. I was too young to handle such a deep character.”
Sreenath visited the sets of that Shyamaprasad movie and his liking increased with each visit. “Meanwhile, I started working with a channel and radio. I had been performing both as a RJ and VJ. Then my first movie Pranayam, happened. After that, I did small roles in Ustad Hotel, 22 FK, and Arike. My first full-length character was in Da Thadiya,” says Sreenath who sees every role that comes to him as a dream role. He will next be seen in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam and a movie with Vineeth Sreenivasan.
“I am keyed up about the Vineeth Sreenivasan film, in which I will be acting alongside Nivin Pauly and others,” says Sreenath excitedly.
