The shooting for the Udhayanidhi Stalin-Amy Jackson starrer Gethu was completed on Tuesday in Shillong where the team has been camping out for the past few days. A happy Amy Jackson tweeted, “It’s a wrap! It has been a lovely little journey & I’m going to miss Udhay & the team! Bye bye Shillong (sic).”
Touted to be an action entertainer, Gethu is produced by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, and is directed by Thirukumaran of Maan Karate fame. The film has Vikranth essaying a negative role for the first time in his career, and Sathyaraj playing Udhay’s father. It’s being said that both Vikranth and Sathyaraj have contradictory roles in the film and would be seen in new avatars this time. Gethu has music by Harris Jayaraj and is slated for a tentative release on December 18. Karunakaran also plays an important role in the film. When the first look of the film was released, it became a sensation because Udhayanidhi has changed his contact lenses, hairstyle and facial hair for the film.
