Award-winning director Pradeep Nair who won state and national accolades for his film Oridam, has announced his next project titled Udal. Starring Vijay Babu in the lead, Pradeep speaks more about the storyline, “Vijay Babu plays a creative writer who accidentally meets a young woman who is a sweeper from a colony. She introduces him to her lover who is an auto rickshaw driver and the story travels through these three characters. It is an intense emotional film.”
The sweeper’s role will be played by Hindi, Bengali and Assamese actress Urmila Mahanto who is the female lead and the role of the auto rickshaw driver will be played by Sanal Aman. Speaking about casting Urmila, Pradeep says, “She is a product of the Pune Film Institute and seemed apt to play the role. After hearing the script she was also able to grasp her role very quickly!”
The film is in sync sound and is produced by Shibu G Susheelan. Udal is written and directed by Pradeep and the locations will be Yellaparra, Kuttikannam and Kochi.
