Thoongavanam and Vedalam will hit the screens on Diwali

It was reported earlier that Thoongavanam and Vedalam, starring Kamal Haasan and Ajith respectively, will hit the screens on Diwali. However, the makers of the latter have not come up with an official confirmation on the release date. Directed by Rajesh M Selva, Thoongavanam was censored with a ‘U/A’ certificate on Wednesday, and the filmmakers are eyeing November 10 as the release date. Trisha, Prakash Raj, Yugi Sethu, Kishore and Sampath play pivotal roles in the film, which is inspired from the French flick Sleepless Night.
Vedalam, on the other hand, was sent to the Censor Board on Friday, and bagged a clean ‘U’ certificate. The makers had released a 20-second song teaser from the film recently which had Ajith, Lakshmi Menon and others shaking a leg for a peppy number. The grapevine has it that the movie is likely to hit the screens on November 10, though it was earlier speculated that it would be released a few days before the festival day to avoid a head-on at the box office.
