Talasani Srinivas’ son booked for assault

Incident took place when the victim reached the minister’s house

Hyderabad: Marredpally police on Friday booked a case against T. Saikiran Yadav, son of minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, for allegedly assaulting a businessman. Sai Kiran, who was trying to settle a dispute between two families, allegedly slapped Abhinav Mahender, the complainant, several times and threatened him. The incident took place when the victim reached the minister’s house in West Marredpally to settle a dispute over his marriage, the complaint said.

As per the complaint, Abhinav had recently married a state-level tennis player, without the consent of her parents. The bride’s father, Mahender Nath Reddy, reportedly objected to the marriage.

“Abhinav married the girl on May 23 in an Arya Samaj mandir without the consent of her parents. Her father wanted to settle the dispute with the help of the minister. However, the minister was not there, and his son got involved in the issue,” said a senior police official.

According to the complainant, Saikiran and Mahender Nath Reddy beat him up and threatened him. Three other people were also present, Abhinav alleged. He approached the Marredpally police and lodged a complaint. “Talasani Saikiran and Mahender Nath have been named in the FIR issued by the Marredpally police,” said North Zone DCP N. Prakash Reddy
