Music director Arjun Janya pays Rs 10.25 lakh fine
Bengaluru: Music director Arjun Janya on Tuesday paid Rs 10,25,000 as fine for driving his high-end Jaguar car with temporary registration number for more than six months. Though he was expected to change the registration before May, he had neglected to do it.
He was caught at Gorguntepalya by the RTO officials during a drive against violations by private vehicles. The singer immediately accepted his mistake and paid up, the RTO officials said. He submitted the DD for the amount on the spot, they said.
The Transport Department conducted the drive at Hebbal, Gorguntepalya, Nayandahalli, Tin Factory, Kengeri. Majestic, Peenya, Electronic Cty, Silk Board Junction, Bannerghatta Road and Sumanhalli, and checked over 5,000 vehicles. Of them, 300 vehicles were booked and seized for various violations, they said.
Goods vehicles, buses, maxi cabs and private cars were subjected to checks. Private buses and maxi cabs were booked for plying without permits and other violations, while cars for non-payment of taxes, tinted glasses, defective number plates and not carrying valid documents like emission test and insurance certificates.
