Narendra Modi on Saturday announced a special package of Rs 80,000 crore for all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir during a public rally at Sher-I-Kashmir cricket stadium in Srinagar.- Srinagar's famous Lal Chowk wears a deserted look ahead of Modi’s rally. Security was tightened as Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani also announced to lead 'million march' on Saturday.
- Before the rally, BJP leaders had claimed that one lakh people will attend the rally including coalition partners.
- Omar Abdullah on Friday alleged that security of his colleagues has been reduced as the state government has directed police personnel and others to attend Modi's rally to muster the numbers.
- Kashmir has suffered a lot over the years. Two generations have seen their dreams being crushed. I have come here with a conviction to take Kashmir to its previous glory, says Modi.
