Seems like some tried and trusted formulas, for a sure shot box office hits are here to stay forever! On the outset, though all of them are plain, repeating same old stories with little makeovers, the end result is always a laughter just like any classic jokes which never fails to bring a smile on the faces. A clear cut, copy paste of Telugu hit film Loukyam, this one directed by Vijay Kiran has done a neat remaking job with just a change in the title of the film with the tag line pakka entertainer!
For those who have not watch the original comedy, Ramleela revolves around Ram (played by Chiranjeevi), a happy-go-lucky guy and his escapades. In his yet another remake avatar, Chiranjeevi Sarja surges with a decent entertainer, and Amulya graduates to another level of ‘simply look gorgeous’ on the big screen.
Without disturbing the core areas of the original, the director has used the foreign locations to good use and the best talents in Sandalwood. It opens up with another usual - a bride being helped by the protagonist, to runaway with her loved one on her wedding day. What follows is mostly predictive comprising of chase sequences and then the hero who lands himself in trouble. Now imagine – a hero in temple and a group of girls in traditional attires calling a friend, and then the camera pans to a huge lamp being lit by the beautiful lady, and that’s our heroine. The hero falls in love instantly.
The escapades continue when Ram comes to know that the girl he has fallen in love is the sister of the bride whom he had helped to runaway. The brother to the two sisters is desperately in search of Ram, for revenge.
From carrying the heroine uphill on the temple stairs, to remixed popular dialogues from the recent Kannada hits, Ramleela has nothing new to offer. But, fortunately it has the same effect as the original one – comedy, a bit of action, and little moments of its own from the beautiful Amulya, to Sadhu, Rangayana Raghu and Sobhraj’s trademark mannerism in addition to Sarja’s effort makes it an entertainer. Go have a laugh watching the beautiful Amulya, Chiru, Sadhu and his company.
