Of warmth and functionality
All apartment owners look for a few things — a multipurpose space, functional areas with the warmth of home and of course, a great view. And stock market technical analyst B. Rajendra has all of it in his apartment in Welkin Park, Begumpet. He resides in the 2,500 sft apartment with wife Haarika and daughters Kavya and Rithika.
The thoughts and efforts that have gone behind the interiors of the home is evident. The formal living room doubles up as a home theatre when a sliding door cordons off the area. “Usually people convert one bedroom into the home theatre, but we didn’t want to waste space. We got recliner sofas and installed Bose speakers in the formal living room,” says Rajendra. A few structural changes also took place. “There was a servant’s quarter next to the kitchen but we broke that down to have a bigger kitchen,” says Rajendra.
Talking about how they designed the space, interior designer duo Santhosh Pandala and Kiran Nevoji say, “With a minimalistic concept in mind, we used warm colours like beiges and browns except for the daughters’ rooms, to bring in the feeling of warmth.”
Their favourites are the balconies in each bedroom. “In fact, my bedroom looks out to Hussainsagar,” says Rajendra.
