Bigg Boss has taught me life lessons: Puneet Vashist

Bigg Boss house was like a rehabilitation centre for me, says Puneet Vashist

It’s not uncommon for Bigg Boss housemates to heave a sigh of relief once they are ousted, and Puneet Vashist is no exception. Ousted from the house this weekend he said, “It feels great to be out. People inside the house are enemies wearing a mask of friendship. I never expected to be out so soon, but I think I have emerged a winner nevertheless.”

He has a lot to take back from the show, he tells us. “I had taken many things in my life for granted but Bigg Boss has taught me many life lessons. I’m a better human being now. Bigg Boss house was like a rehabilitation centre for me. I needed that kind of solitude to introspect. After some time you forget there are cameras and you have no option but to be yourself. I’m a changed man — spiritually and mentally.”

How did he decide to be part of the show in the first place? “I was never even tempted to see the show. I knew it was full of politics and bitchiness but I decided to be a part of it because it would give me a chance to come face-to-face with my audience.” And what does he feel about his housemates? “Suyyash and Kishwar understand the game and are playing it well. On the first day, I was happy, so I woke up early and was simply whistling around, but that did not go down too well with Rochelle. She simply got agitated for no reason. That’s the essence of the show — you have to get aggressive and bitch about people to stay in the limelight. But Aman is a genuine guy. He is balanced, calm, composed and not judgmental at all. Besides, he is not willing to be a part of the camps formed inside the house. He should win the show.”

Puneet has a few complaints about host Salman too. “Salman Khan was attacking me. I don’t know what he has against me, but I don’t want him to have a negative impression of me ever. I know he is not a judgmental person and there was a misunderstanding.”

So what awaits him in the real world? “I had quit two films to be part of the show. I’m not SRK, Aamir or Salman that filmmakers would come running to me with scripts. I have to look for work and will start making calls soon. No way I’m going back inside the house.”
