Vinod Kumar, who has acted in many Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films, has been apparently arrested by the Karnataka police over an alleged assault.
According to reports, the actor is accused of assaulting his manager over some financial dealings. Recently, the actor’s manager, Sachidananda, was travelling on a two-wheeler and a car driven by Vinod’s driver hit the bike.
Sachidananda escaped with minor injuries and later, filed a police complaint. The incident took place near Puthur and after enquiry, the local police arrested the actor and his driver on Monday. The actor was in the car when the accident took place, said sources.
Vinod had made his Telugu debut with Mouna Poratam in 1989 and had gone on to act in many successful Telugu films as a lead actor. These days, he mainly does character roles.
