Karimnagar district ASI’s group financed Telugu film producers

Cops used to settle ‘financial disputes’ at Haritha

Adilabad: Karimnagar district ASI, B. Mohan Reddy and other police personnel including some police officers of Adilabad, who are facing allegations of running a finance business, also reportedly financed some Telugu film producers who recently produced films.

North zone IG, Naveen Chand issued orders on Monday attaching Ganapati, circle inspector of Mudhole of Adilabad district to Warangal DIG. The decision was taken after CID in its investigation found Ganapati Jadhav’s role in the finance business and his support to prime accused B. Mohan Reddy while he was working as inspector of Karimnagar I Town police station.

It is being said in Boath mandal of Adilabad district that a police officer, a native of Boath, who worked in Karimnagar, came under the scanner of CID which is probing the finance business in Karimnagar. Ganapati Jadhav earlier also worked as inspector of I Town Adilabad police station.

The said police officer amassed huge wealth and owns a function hall, a petrol bunk and recently purchased a 7-acre plot near NH-44 in Neredigonda mandal and financed local Ginning factory owners and businessmen. It is said that the police officer, who was associated with prime accused Mohan Reddy, financed film producers.

The said Boath police officer was popular in his native mandal and had a good network with local businessmen and is absconding since the issue of police financing at exorbitant interest and harassing people for repayment, came to light in Karimnagar.

A resident of Boath mandal said the police officer of Boath was popular in their mandal and was considered to be rich. His group also financed some Telugu film producers.

It was also found that some Karimnagar police officers who are involved in the finance business used to come to Haritha Tourism restaurant at Jannaram of Adilabad district and used to stay there to settle ‘financial matters’.
