Personalised with love
Enter Villa No. 48 in Aparna County and you are greeted with a compilation of tiles that read Home Is Where The Story Begins. And that, say the owners Ram Reddy and Bindu, is the very essence of their house. They live in the 3,800 sq. ft bungalow with their children Abhiram and Anjali.
But what stands out is how each room has its own theme. Ram says, “It’s a very personalised house. There’s a different concept for each room. My daughter’s bedroom is completely princess themed while my son’s bedroom has sports all over.”
While the ground floor has the formal living space, dining hall, kitchen, guest bedroom and Abhiram’s room, the first floor has a family entertainment lounge and bar, Anjali’s room, the master bedroom and a home theatre.
Interior designer duo Aparna Bidarkar and Padmaja Sakhineti says, “The clients were clear about what they wanted and they were very involved too. So, we brought in functionality and created space wherever we could.” That explains why Anjali’s room has a mezzanine. “Her room had a high ceiling so by creating the mezzanine, there was more space for a playroom for her, a place where she could hang out with her friends,” says Bindu.
