Bikers rob GHMC driver’s gold chain
Hyderabad: A GHMC truck driver has lodged a complaint with the police saying that two bikers stopped his truck, beat him up and snatched his gold chain at Padmarao-nagar in the early hours of Saturday.
The bikers fled on their high speed Yamaha FZ bike before the victim could call anybody for help. Though the police have booked a case they are yet to believe the robbery story told by the complainant as there is no strong evidence. From the bike registration number the police identified the two people, named Deepu and Sampath, but they could not get evidence on chain-snatching.
“It is true the duo beat up the truck driver. However, we are not sure if a chain was snatched from him.
The accused people were drunk and had started the fight as they had a close shave when the truck passed them on Chilkalguda crossroad,” said an official from the Gopalapuram police station.
The victim, J. Hari Narasimha, 26, stated in his complaint that he had dumped garbage at the GHMC dump yard on Lower Tank Bund and was returning via Chi-lkalguda cross road.
“Two people came on a bike and stopped my vehicle. They beat me up and snatched my gold chain weighing 15 grams,” he said in the complaint.
