Gold, silver taken from RTC employee’s home

As everybody was in deep sleep no one saw the theft

Hyderabad: Robbers raided an RTC employee’s home in the Nagole area on Friday night. They sprinkled a powder on the family while they were sleeping and decamped with 40 tolas of gold and nearly two kg silver.

The RTC employee Ramachandra is working in Hyderabad. On Friday, he went to Chittoor on duty. His wife, son Madhusudan, who is working as a manager at the Mahindra showroom in Uppal, and his daughters were sleeping in his house at the BK Reddy Nagar colony in LB Nagar.

Madhusudan slept in one bedroom while his mother and sisters slept in another bedroom. Around 12 pm on Friday some people entered the house by opening the latch through the window. “They entered the master bedroom. Using the keys in the almirah they opened it and fled with around 40 tolas of gold and one kg silver articles,” said LB Nagar additional inspector S. Murali Krishna.

As everybody was in deep sleep no one saw the theft. When they woke up on Saturday morning they found the almirah open and the jewellery missing.

Based on a complaint from Mr Madhusudhan, a case under Sections 457 (housebreaking) and 380 (theft in house) was registered.
