I don’t react to gossip: Aishwarya
Aishwarya Rajesh, who is riding high on success, is the latest to have been smitten by ghost films
Aishwarya Rajesh, who is riding high on success, is the latest to have been smitten by ghost films. The dusky actress, who got critical acclaim playing the mother of two in the award-winning Kakka Muttai, has been roped in for Sundar C’s upcoming production venture Hello Naan Pei Pesuren. A cool and composed Aishwarya speaks to DC and here are excerpts from the interview.
Ultimate ‘kutthu’ number in front of a dead body:
Basically, I am a dancer and Khushbu madam was a judge for one of the dance reality shows where I performed. Director Bhaskar had conceived a dance sequence for a funeral procession scene. Usually, only male actors and dancers do it. For a change, I was given the opportunity which I made use of. It was shot at a private beach where a huge crowd had gathered.
We hear that a big star always recommends your name to filmmakers… (Laughs).
Really? If he does, please tell him to do more now, so that I can grab more films. For that matter even my co-star in Hello Naan…, Vaibhav Reddy recently suggested my name to a director for a new film.
Handling link-ups and rumours:
I feel the gossip really helps me boost my career and stay in the news. It only shows that I have reached a certain stage that media wants to write about me, I am happy, and hence I don’t react to the gossip at all!
Heroines are commanding drastically huge salaries in K’town:
In a male-dominated industry, I feel it is a healthy thing when heroines reach a higher level and get a raise in salary as well. Naturally, I increased my salary after each level in my career. I can’t be paid what I was getting when I debuted, can I?
Playing a ghost in Hello Naan Pei Pesuren:
There are several ghosts in the film. You can take it in any way… I may be a ghost or I am not one! (smiles)
Accepting character roles as in the case of the Jolly LLB remake:
Firstly, it is not a character role in the Jolly LLB remake. It is a crucial role, which was not in the original and has been created for me. Secondly, as an artiste I want to show versatility in whatever I do, be it a heroine or character role. Even if it is a single scene where I can prove my mettle, I don’t mind accepting it.
Upcoming films:
Kuttrame Dhandanai, Diwali Thuppaki, Aradhu Sinam, Idam Porul Eval among others.
