From dreams to reality
From riding around on a cycle in the streets of Nizamabad to shifting into a 4,500 sq. ft apartment in Banjara Hills, LIC agent Koutike Vittal has come a long way.
The man whose big smile brightens up the room, talks about how this apartment is his dream house, where he lives with wife Kavya, daughter Navya and son Aaditya.
“I was born to a poor family and I would go around Nizamabad selling insurances. After I was successful there, I decided to move to Hyderabad. And it has taken so many years of hard work to be where I am today. While building this home, my aim was to show how a small man, just a LIC agent, could buy a house in one of the most posh areas of the city,” says Vittal.

The apartment reflects his vision along with the inputs of interior designer Sharath Sai Enduri. Done up completely in white with hints of grey, their home boasts of indirect lighting which makes for the perfect ambience. “They wanted a contemporary home done up in subtle colours. Also, the mood lighting in every room is an interesting idea we used, right from the headboard in the master bedroom to the strip lighting in other areas,” says Sharath.
As one enters the apartment, on the right there is an office space while ahead is a lit-up Ganesha mural on Corian panel. Right from the formal living room to the family space and the dining hall, the area has been very well treated.
