Post the success of their films Special 26 and Baby, Akshay Kumar and director Neeraj Pandey have joined hands, for the third time, for a romantic-thriller titled Rustom. Based on real-life incidents, the film marks the debut of director Tinu Desai, who assisted Neeraj Pandey in Special 26.
Recent development about the shoot state that Ileana D’cruz will play the female lead opposite Akshay. There were also reports of Esha Gupta playing a negative role but when she was contacted, Esha replied, “Even I have heard about it but nothing has been finalised yet.”
Shooting for the film will kick-start in UK early next year. Portions of the film will be shot in India, Europe and a few other international locales. While Akshay Kumar has two big releases in the first half of 2016, Airlift and Houseful 3, the makers of Rustom are reportedly looking for an Independence Day release next year.
