‘Hale’ this quenching trio

Busy getting people to change their lifestyle choices, these three city women have launched a health drink
They are firm believers of ‘you are what you eat’. They like to practice what they preach. This power packed trio of three young girls is making waves in the city. Anju Sood, Anu Berry and Angie Mahtaney, three fun-loving, passionate and diverse women came together in serendipitous fashion with the aspiration to change the world, one juice at a time. We speak to them on their diverse backgrounds and how they are ‘rejoov’enating many lives with their new juice venture.
Anu who has a B.Com Honours degree from Hindu College in New Delhi, confesses to have been juicing all her life as she believes in it as a natural cure to many ailments. “There is a huge gap in the market as current products are ultra-heat treated, that leads to loss of essential nutrients. I always adapt to healthy eating habits that are sustainable in the long run,” states Anu.
The culinary skill-set of Anu Berry and nutritional expertise of Dr. Anju Sood allowed the ladies to cater to this growing need. After completing her postgraduate degree in nutrition from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, Anju went on to complete her research in nutrition and a Ph.d in nutrition from The University of Delhi. Living by example herself, she says, “I always wanted to create awareness about healthy eating habits among those who lead stressful lives with very little focus and knowledge of nutrition. We created Rejoov as a healthy substitute with essential macro and micro nutrients often lacking in the diet.”
On her other hobbies, Anu who has spent time volunteering at local non-profit organisations in the various countries she has lived, states, “I enjoy reading and experimenting with different cuisines from around the world. I also take pride in being a fitness enthusiast,” while Anju on the other hand, learnt early in life that route to success is by making your hobby as your profession. “That’s when I decided to become a teacher. I have spent the first few years of my career teaching nutrition. Thereafter, I have been a consultant in the field of nutrition, specialising in the mitigation of lifestyle problems such as diabetes, cardio vascular diseases and hormonal imbalance etc.”
Angie who has an MBA degree from Columbia Business School, NY is currently the ceo of an apparel manufacturing and export company based in Bengaluru. She adds, “I try to stay healthy, sometimes with more luck during the week than on the weekends and complement this with a game of tennis thrice a week.”
