Hyderabad: Distribution of the two bins by GHMC and floating of auto tippers by November end is likely to get delayed as the manufacturers have not delivered the order yet.
Out of 2,500 tippers, only 1,000 have been delivered. Auto tippers will reduce expenditure by 25 to 30 per cent. Once the stock comes, the distribution will begin. GHMC distributed a few in Madhura Nagar under circle number 10 the previous week. Meanwhile, following irregularities in the GHMC transport department the corporation has come up with diesel coupons in the transport wing.
“For heavy vehicles which are being used for lifting and transporting of garbage, the GHMC has introduced the issue of diesel through an online system. In a single day around 4,000 litres of diesel is being saved and overall in a month around 1,20,000 litres of diesel is being saved and around Rs 60 lakh is saved from misuse because of introduction of the online system,” said Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner and Special Officer, GHMC.
