Reverse pumping of water
3.5 MGD of water will be reverse-pumped through the Manjeera Phase-I pipeline.
Hyderabad: For the first time, the Water Board will try supplying 11 million gallons per day of water from the Krishna and Godavari projects to certain areas by reverse pumping.
These were previously covered by the Singur and Manjeera projects which have now run dry.
3.5 MGD of water will be reverse-pumped through the Manjeera Phase-I pipeline to HUDA Colony, Taranagar, Gandamma Temple in Chandanagar, Taranagar (V), Taranagar (M), Pochama Temple, Youth Colony, Sai Colony, Old Hafeezpet, Gopinagar, Adarshnagar-I, II, III & Dubey Colony, Nehrunagar, Vemana Colony, Reddy Colony, Shankernagar, Jawahar Colony 1 to 6, Vidyanagar, Suraksha Colony, Vemkunta, Bikshapathi Enclave
Six MGD will be supplied from the Manjeera Phase-II pipeline to Jyothi Talkies near BHEL main entrance, Aparna, Deepthi Srinagar of PJR Enclave, JP Nagar, BK Enclave, Prashanth Nagar, Srirangapuram, Janapriya and Bhanu Township.
2.5 MGD from Manjeera Phase-III pipeline will be supplied to HUDA Colony, Chandanagar, Shanthinagar, Indranagar, Shivajinagar, Citizen Colony, Huda Trade Centre, Lingampally village, Brindavan Colony, Gulmohar Colony, Adarshnagar, Bapunagar, Nehrunagar and Nalagandla village, Gowlidodi, Nanakaramguda, Khajaguda.
