Chandrabose murder case: Media persons can’t be examined
The judge accepted only four persons out of the list of 25 witnesses submitted by the defence lawyer.
Thrissur: The trial court on Monday rejected the request of the defence lawyer in the Chandrabose murder case to examine 12 mediapersons as witnesses.
Judge K.P. Sudheer said that the mediapersons were unnecessarily included in the list of witnesses submitted to the trial court and that it was done to extend the trial process.
The judge accepted only four persons out of the list of 25 witnesses submitted by the defence lawyer. Defence witness M.V. Kiran, who is presented by the defence as a tyre expert, and Dr Ajith of Thrissur Medical College, who treated accused Nisham, will be examined on December 28.
The examination of forensic surgeon P.K. Sharma from Delhi and Dr S. Saithumuhammed, clinical psychiatrist of Ansar Hospital, Perumpilavu in Thrissur, will be held the next day.
The defence side had sought the permission of the court to examine first prosecution witness K.C. Anoop as its witness, but the court rejected that as well.
The defence had also requested to examine two psychiatrists from Bangalore and police officers associated with the investigation of the case. Nisham had submitted a written statement before the court that he was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder.
