Work, to many people is stressful, boring and burdening. Imagine if work was like a holiday! Imagine the increase in productivity and the happiness of the people working together. Making life enjoyable and challenging, has shown definite impact on productivity. So, make sure that your workplace is fun. When your workplace has such an environment, your happy chemical levels are elevated, blood and oxygen flow to the brain increases.
Keep in mind that children laugh about 400 times a day! So chose to fill your day with laughter, which incidentally is 10 times more powerful than Morphine. But how can you consciously bring the holiday atmosphere into your everyday life? Wake up with a smile, start exercising in bed, take a great shower, wear the lovely clothes you have set out the previous night, turn on your favourite music, read a book or listen to an audio book if stuck in traffic, plan your favourite food for lunch, and enjoy the evening with your family.
Having a long face, does not make you more professional. Demonstrate humour as you do your job. Reward great performances. There have been dancing policemen and singing nurses. Use your own special skills to make yours a unique contribution at work.
